S1 Godzilla Brown Sewhandy
I'm offering better condition Singer Sewhandys in
this sale but the oddity and rarity of this version justifies its
inclusion. The body and base are a dark Godzilla finish whilst the
stitchplate and wheel are the more traditional smooth coating. Please
note there is a line of rusting at either end of the stitch plate
- you should be able to see this quite clearly in the pictures.
A box, albeit in less than perfect condition, comes in with the
deal. Glenda Thomas2-737A is similar but an entirely different shade.
Price: $180 including insurance and airmail shipping.

S2 1910 Singer 20 4-spoke
The first versions of the Singer toy are always amongst
the first machines to disappear from my sales pages so I'm glad
to be able to offer two this Christmas. The is the more affordable
of the pair Although the paintwork, apart from the clamp area, is
good the brightwork needs some loving care. But given that it's
a chance to add the first Singer toy to your collection at a very
reasonable price. Glenda Thomas 1-354.

S3
1910 4-spoke 20
Here's the second machine. A lot brighter with sparkling brightork,
its correct clamp (not one from a later machine) and the original
box. Glenda Thomas 1-354.

S4 Tan Sewhandy
OK, tan Sewhandys aren't rare, but a kit in this condition doesn't
come along every day. What we have is a bright and shiny machine
complete with its original clamp, screwdriver and box. Badge is
great as is the Singer decal but for some reason the M is missing
from Made in Britain on the rear. Like Glenda Thomas 1-367 but tan.
Price: $240 including insurance and surface-mail shipping.

S5 Centennial
Sewhandy
The famous Centennial badge celebrating Singer's 100th year in
business in 1951 raises this machine from the plain black Sewhandy
class. Paint is good with only the odd chip but there's surface rust
on the stitch plate and the other chrome work is dull. A bargain price
Centennial that will improve with work. Glenda Thomas 1-365.

S6 Blue Italian Sewhandy:
I make no apologies for what may initially appear a relatively
high price for this machine. Not only is it rare but this is absolutely
like new and the very best example I have ever seen. Please check
out the pictures, it really is this good. There's not even a scratch
at the clamp area. The box is just as nice and, of course, as befits
its condition, we have the matching clamp and miniature screwdriver.
I ha difficulty getting the colours correct for the pictures here
but it's the darker blue version from Italy- much darker than those
shown in Glenda Thomas 2-735 and 736.

S7 German 20
Not sure if the machine was made in Germany but the box certainly
appears to be. German text and, to my mind, the best graphics of
any Singer carton. Sadly the box has some slight damage and it appears
to have had at one stage a small tool drawer. The machine itself
has good paintwork with just a little rubbing in the clamp area.
Again we have the correct clamp. Glenda Thomas 1-262. Price: $290
including insurance and surface-mail shipping.

Hammer Green Sewhandy
Would you believe that this and the blue machine (S6) came together
only a week ago? They were brought to an English antiques show by
a Frenchman and unfortunately changed hands three times before I
was able to grab them. The hammer green finish on this model is
as near perfect as is possible to get, as are the decals. There's
a little slight scuffing in the clamp area and a very small mark
on the wheel rim. It comes in a pretty French box with great graphics
- no tears, just the slightest rubbing on the edges and a small
oil spot. Please look at the pictures and check out the pretty pink
badge. There's also a matching clamp. Colours in the picture are
a pretty good match. Glenda Thomas 2-733, box 2-737B.

S9 French Sewhandy:
Another Sewhandy in wonderful condition. This time its gleaming
black. Brightwork is superb and again we have the correct clamp,
screwdriver and the pretty French box with its great graphics. Glenda
Thomas 1-369, box 2-737.

S10 Travel
Kit
The good news is that the machine, the trunk and its drawers are
all in great condition - sadly the doll is not present. But these
do turn up individually and for anyone lucky enough to have one this
will complete the kit. Glenda Thomas 2-729.

S11 Model 30
Twice the might of the Singer corporation tried to take on the
relatively small Willcox & Gibbs company for a share of its
near monopoly on the domestic chain-stitch market. The Model 30
from the 1920s was the second attempt and even more of a failure
than the earlier model 24. But the company's loss was our gain and
this half-size machine makes a wonderful addition to a Singer collection.
Paintwork is superb as are the decals but the brightwork could do
with cleaning to bring the machine from just great to sensational.
